The SSC Consultant Network

As our business grows, so has our network of consultants. At the end of 2006, we had more than fifty sustainability freelancers—in four continents—ready to contribute to our clients' success. Our ability to draw on experts in the fields of stakeholder engagement, international development, dialogue and facilitation, project management, strategic planning, energy efficiency, waste management, human rights, community impact, public-private partnerships, and business ethics is one of the things that sets us apart from our competitors. We're proud to work with some of the best people in the industry, and thrilled to offer our clients a customized team of experts ready to tackle any sustainability challenge.

SSC Internship Program

Each fall, spring, and summer, we accept a group of interns for a 12-week program. Our interns work on a part-time basis on a variety of exciting sustainability projects. At the end of the program, the most promising interns may continue with us as freelance consultants, or may go on to full-time jobs (such as Ceres and USAID). Please visit our blog to learn more about our internship program and to see when the next application period is open.

We do not have any full-time openings at this time.

Our Commitments

Our Values

Corporate social responsibility is not just the "right" thing to do, but also makes good business sense. With the goal of long-term sustainable development in mind, we commit to:

  • Integrity—we go beyond mere compliance with the law and look for ways to be more honest, more accountable, and more transparent in everything we do.
  • Positive Social Impact— we offer products and services that make the world a better place, including pro-bono work to clients who would otherwise be unable to fund CSR initiatives.
  • Environmental Responsibility—we choose environmentally-friendly alternatives, encourage e-meetings, and offset our carbon emissions.
  • Social Responsibility—we endorse the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and strive to buy only from suppliers who respect ILO Conventions.
  • Community Service—we participate in the local community through volunteerism and charitable giving.

Our Sustainability Report

We tell our clients that transparency is the single most important factor in being a responsible organization, and so we're delighted to be walking our talk! In this report, you'll find information on Strategic Sustainability Consulting's economic, environmental, and social performance—all based on the Global Reporting Initiative's Sustainability Reporting Guidelines. That's something that none of our competitors have—and we're proud to be among the most accountable, the most committed, and the most transparent sustainability consultancies out there.
