Given the increased demand for such products we’ve discussed over the last few weeks, there have been new entrants to the LCA software market. Suppliers have sprung up from computer design companies and life cycle management software manufacturers, and have included useful functions in their new products like the ability to compare different product scenarios.
When choosing LCA software, it is important to prioritize your supply chain challenges to see how they are addressed by the individual products. Some possible concerns to consider include in your analysis: does the software focus on compliance with ISO standards?; does it emphasize resource or energy optimization?; does it aid in the product design process?; will it help with our marketing and communications efforts?
