Tracy Hanford – Marketing and Outreach Manager 

Hi, I’m Tracy.

After a recent relocation from South Africa to Virginia, I joined the SSC team as the Marketing and Outreach Manager. I hold a B Com degree in Marketing with an Honors degree in Strategic Management from the University of Johannesburg (South Africa).

I consider myself an experienced marketer in the media and publishing industry. I’ve been involved in launch campaigns for print media products as well as an international television station branch in Africa. My passion is for applying my innovation and artistic flair to marketing and using this enthusiasm to promote SSC.

Given my interest in strategic sustainability, I was delighted to be asked to join the SSC team. I hope to broaden my knowledge of the sustainability industry by working closely with Jennifer and Lorre. “When you believe in what you do, you do it well!” and I believe that sustainability is a central aspect of business and is vital to an organization’s success.

My main focus is managing the day-to-day marketing and business activities, the consultant network, and the internship program. I'm also the one who makes the white papers look "pretty", and I’m responsible for SSC's marketing efforts and opportunities. I’m your first port-of-call, so let me know if I can help. ;)

What else? I’m a South African with Danish blood, so naturally I’m a hard worker! I’m organized, a yes/no girl and don’t believe in gray areas or half-hearted efforts. I enjoy working both under pressure and on the occasional “stress-free” project too.

In my spare time, I love to travel and open my mind to the wonders of the world. I have an inclination for spending time outdoors, whether it’s hiking, riding bike, horse riding, tubing or skiing. I never sit still, and consider myself a real busybody!
